Oligosaccharides and Dietary Fibers and Treatment of Liver Disorders

General health tips on liver disorders wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t talk here about the importance of dietary fibers and oligosaccharides for liver health. Such liver disorders like acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, and liver cirrhosis progress with marked pathologic shifts in intestine microflora – there is a lack of obligate microorganisms and an increase of pathogen microorganisms in large intestine.

Probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics are used to enhance normal functioning of resident microflora.

The latter regulates production of toxins in intestine preventing their excessive accumulation and entry to blood flow. As a result of metabolism of probiotic microorganisms characterized by detoxicative and proteolytic features, proteolysis of endotoxins, allergens and antigens takes place in intestine. Dietary fibers, being sorbents and nutritious substance for intestine microflora, play an important role in people’s meals. Oligosaccharides (prebiotics of in vivo group) are utilized by healthy intestine microflora and increase selectively its population.

Thereby, bioactive substances are very important in treatment of liver disorders. However, one suffering from liver disorders should strictly follow his/her doctor’s advice as for the daily rate of bioactive substances to take. Let your liver be healthy!

Popcorn Health Risks – Do We Really Make the Right Choice?

Have you ever thought about popcorn health risks? As for me, I could not imagine that mere popcorn can be somehow hazardous for human health. Sure, I do not mean some very serious popcorn health risks. But if you are trying to lose weight or just control your weight, eating popcorn can be risky.

Do not forget that obesity is one of the major health problems for the American nation. By all means, we are trying to stop this epidemic, which is why I think it’s important to talk about popcorn health risks. Besides, these days, popcorn is considered as a healthy alternative to all other kinds of snack like cookies, nuts, and so on.

So, let me tell you briefly my story about popcorn health risks. The thing is that I didn’t consider popcorn as something that would make me gain weight. What is more, I really liked going out for movies or just watching TV at home with a small bucket of popcorn.

Tea Health Risks: Would You Like a Cup of Tea?

Although I don’t live in England and have never been there, a tea drinking tradition is very close to me. At home, I have teas of different kinds and every day spend for about an hour, from 5p.m. till 6 p.m. drinking tea, just like in England

It was a real shock for me when I heard about tea health risks. I hit upon an article on the Web about tea health risks that I actually did not believe at first. But when I investigated this topic a bit deeper, I realized that it made sense. Besides, I watched myself for a while and some of the tea health risks proved to be true.

For instance, some time ago I noticed a kind of sleep disorder, but definitely could not think of any tea health risks. I sleep well but it might take several hours to fall asleep. I heard that teas contain some amounts of caffeine but could not think it can be some sort of tea health risk. Actually, it is, although not very serious. Some scholars say that tea contains even more caffeine than coffee. By the way, if you drink decaf teas, there are also some tea health risks that you might face. At least, I know for sure that the decaf process removes some beneficial substances like antioxidants from tea.
